An ALP politician, Nick Champion, has written a piece designed to scare the electorate. Rudd is concentrating on frightening little children.
Champion is quoting “National Security and the Threat of Climate Change” by General Gordon R Sullivan (Ret.) which paints a picture of “food and water scarcity, rising sea levels, increased threat of national disasters like hurricanes, storms and flooding, and a rise in infectious diseases. These threats could strike in Asia and the Pacific and could affect millions of people.”
He then goes on to talk about a ”threat multiplier” which includes every nightmare from failed states to resource scarcity all of which he sees as threatening our defences and our fault unless we introduce an ETS which would easily fix all the world’s problems.
He tries to blame us for all the natural disasters of the earth and would then deprive poor countries of modern coal fired power stations and confine them to dung and windmills in the name of responsible government and our national security.
The Carbon Sense Coalition claimed today that those who vote for the Wong Ration-N-Tax Scheme are betraying every backbone industry in Australia, for no climate benefits whatsoever.
The Chairman of Carbon Sense, Mr Viv Forbes, said that there is no evidence that carbon dioxide drives temperature changes on earth.
He added:
“Even if the world did warm, there is no evidence that this would be harmful to life on earth. Ice ages cause mass extinctions; warm periods are always bountiful.
“Moreover, higher temperature must produce higher evaporation from the oceans and thus more rainfall. If this is combined with more abundant carbon dioxide, the aerial plant food, earth would have another green revolution.
“The war on carbon dioxide has been heavily promoted by European interests dependent on aging and costly nuclear power and unreliable Russian gas. Their goal is to hobble those competitors reliant on efficient and dependable coal power, chiefly the Anglo-American world and Australia’s major customers in China and India.
“Many foolish local politicians have thus become foreign agents.
“Any Ration-N-Tax Scheme will reduce Australian jobs in mining, farming, fishing, forestry, transport, travel, tourism and power generation, all of which are totally dependent on carbon fuels. It will benefit bankers, speculators, traders, lawyers, regulators and artificial industries dependent on subsidies.
“It will export jobs and assist all competitors who have no ETS shackles.
“The carbon killers in the Australian Parliament are thus assisting the world spread of nuclear power, encouraging the overuse of gas, promoting costly fantasies like wind power, assisting carbon speculators and destroying real Australian industry and jobs – all for no proven climate benefit whatsoever.”
It is often said that there is “consensus” among scientists regarding anthropogenic global warming. This report lists 700 scientists who dissent from that view.
Like the British Eighth Army in North Africa in the 1940’s, climate realists have been in continual retreat since the Climate War started.
Led by Al Gore’s trained regiments using Nobel prize gunpowder, backed by academic and government snipers using manipulated temperature data, financed by endless conveys carrying tax payer funds, reinforced by a steady barrage of scare forecasts from the media and legislative carpet bombing from pliant politicians, the Green Army looked invincible.
But suddenly the tide turned…
2. Rudd – Promising Poverty or Blowing Hot Air?
The Carbon Sense Coalition today claimed that Australian PM Rudd was either promising poverty for his grandkids or blowing hot air.
“Manmade global warming, for many, is an Earth-worshipping religion. The essential feature of any religion is that its pronouncements are to be accepted on the basis of faith as opposed to hard evidence. Questioning those pronouncements makes one a sinner. No one denies that the Earth’s temperature changes. Millions of years ago, much of our planet was covered by ice, at some places up to a mile thick, a period some scientists call “Snowball Earth.” Today, the Earth is not covered by a mile of ice; a safe conclusion is that there must have been a bit of global warming. I don’t know the cause of that warming, but I’d wager everything I own that it was not caused by coal-fired electric generation plants, incandescent light bulbs and SUVs tooling up and down the highways.”

Viscount Monckton of Brenchley (Christopher Lord Monckton) has agreed to come on a lecture tour in Australia in late January 2010. Professor Ian Plimer will accompany Christopher Monckton on a whirlwind tour of the mainland capital cities starting in Sydney on January 25th and finishing in Perth on February 9th. Unfortunately we cannot fit in Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Lady Juliet Monckton will come as well, in part to monitor Lord Monckton’s health.
Prof. Plimer says the following of Lord Monckton: “although I modestly state that I am a good performer, he is superb and I have seen him fielding a very hostile BBC and other networks. He has the ability to change thinking…”.
Given the now generally-acknowledged lack of understanding among the Australian general public of the underlying reasons for a “Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme” and the likely effects thereof, it is critical that the public gets a chance to hear a globally-recognised presenter to explain the rational understanding of the whole issue. Lord Monckton is the ideal person to carry out this task and to also put it to the mass media.

The response to this tour has been amazing which underlines the timeliness of it. We would stress that it would be good to get as many “agnostics” and “true believers” along to Monckton’s lectures. So if you have any such friends, please persuade them to come along.
