Reliable Infrastructure before Green Grandstanding

Two messages for Canberra:

Firstly, Australia does not have a problem with too much carbon dioxide going to the sky – we have a problem storing enough of the water coming from the sky.

Secondly, Australia does not have a shortage of wind and solar “farms” – we have a shortage of water, stock feed and low-cost electricity on real farms.

Politicians fritter our money on dubious “research”, climate propaganda, foreign adventures and handouts for trendy, vote-seeking green causes. But they have not built a serious water supply dam since the 1980’s, and the last big coal-fired power station was opened 11 years ago. For a country with a growing population, abundant supplies of coal and uranium, and a history of severe droughts, these are serious omissions.

The Snowy Mountain Scheme (opened nearly 50 years ago) was a visionary project that produced large volumes of low-cost water for irrigation plus reliable hydro-power for industry.

The new Snowy 2.0 Scheme is a fraud – it will produce no extra water and will be a net consumer of power. Its sole purpose is to try to plug the holes and fluctuations in electricity supply caused by a bi-partisan love affair with expensive green energy toys producing unreliable, intermittent electricity.

Cease this baseless war on carbon fuels. Carbon dioxide does not drive global warming – it is driven out of sea water by ocean warming.

Australia should cancel Snowy 2.0, withdraw from all Paris and Kyoto Climate Treaty obligations, dump the NEG “plans”, remove all green energy subsidies and start building some real power stations and real water supply dams and pipelines.

No matter what the weather does, we will need more cheap, reliable water and electricity.

Absolutely spot on Viv. I wonder though how we can get this message through to mainstream punters. Sure circulating your comments here to friends will help but they generally all are on my side of the debate so it is preaching to the converted somewhat. Perhaps a series of newspaper adds?? But these cost money.

“Carbon dioxide does not drive global warming – it is driven out of sea water by ocean warming.”
-All greenhouse gasses have nothing to do with climate change.
Ocean warming produce more water vapor. billions of molecules of water vapor, which are lighter than most of other molecules in air ARE MAKING ANY VOLUME OF AIR lighter, than other volumes with less molecules of water vapor. IT HELP LIFT all molecules in that volume up to upper troposphere, where energy of all gasses are going to space easy, than from ocean level. -It cool the atmosphere.
    – Clouds (mix of water droplet and air), white snow, ice are reflecting back to space direct sun radiation. IT also cool the atmosphere.
WE MUST REEVALUATE DEADLY WRONG SCIENCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE, which poison minds as alarmist, as their opponent.

I totally agree with this. I am beginning to think that the Greens who are really the REDS want to bring our country to its knees so that they can bring in extreme left wing policies. The ultimate aim of all these policies is to bring in a one world government… may GOD help us.

Australia have no chance of having electric vehicles as they require a lot of electricity to recharge their batteries when workers arrive home from work at night so if 2 million plug in at the same time turn out the lights and turn off the stove and TV as the solar is out and the wind might stop on a frosty night so off to bed early without dinner. I think we will need a few coal fired power stations to give the electric vehicles a chance
